Princesses, Temples, Angels, & Christmas...huh?

Merry Christmas! This was our Christmas pic of 2008...smile Callie! (yeah right..not for the camera anyways!)
Brandon took Taylor to her very first Princess Party at our local library. She was delighted to be surrounded by her "friends": Belle, Cinderella, Jasmine, Snow White, and Ariel.

This was at the Festival of Tree's in Salt Lake. We couldn't believe how many trees, ginger-bread houses, etc. there were up for sale all to be donated to the Primary Children's Hospital. It was hard not to be moved to tears as some of the trees were dedicated to certain children...some of which had already passed away.

After our Festival of Tree's trip, we headed over to Temple Square for their magnificent display of lights and Naitivity scenes. The girls were in awe at everything. The best part of all was seeing baby Jesus in a manger and seeing how excited Taylor got when she realized that was him in the manger.

Aren't our Angels just Angels?

Again, Merry Christmas and remember He is truly the reason for the Season. Let us all keep a room available in our hearts, homes, and families for Him to come and abide forever.

Here is "Jesus' House." It was such a fun Family Home Evening!

Our little girl....

No, we haven't found out what we're having yet (not until DEC 17th!!!!) But I couldn't believe the scene I came upon this afternoon. Taylor had been pretty quiet while I was downstairs cleaning up, then I started hearing some singing. I came upstairs and she had my ipod in her ears singing the songs....it was so cute I had to catch it on video...Enjoy!! Can you figure out what song she is singing?...you've probably heard it!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAPA!

We love you Papa and wanted to do something fun for your birthday. We thought because of your age (60!!!!) that we would have to spell it out extra big for you!

If you can't read it, it says, "Happy 60(th) Birthday PAPA". Taylor also wanted to sing happy birthday for you (there are also some cute girls on their "photo shoot"). Enjoy the video below!

We love you so much and hope you really have a happy and wonderful birthday. We are sorry that we are not there, but we look forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks!
Love,
Brandon, Tina, Taylor, & Callie!

The visit to Aquarium

Some of my really awesome friends invited me to come with them to the local Aquarium. They even got us all in for practically nothing...which was good because it would been I disappointment if i would have had to pay full price. Don't get me wrong, we had a great time but it is way overpriced with the amount of things available to see and do!

Above, you could touch the sting rays...Taylor never wanted to touch them but she enjoyed putting her hands in the water! She later did touch a Starfish but my hands were full of squirmy Callie so I couldn't take a picture!

They had little caves you could crawl around in.

They had an exhibit where you "drove" a boat on the Great Salt Lake...they kids loved it!
Don't they both look like they have just seen a ghost...I swear was just telling them to say cheese!

You and Me and the Baby makes 3...well 5 really!

I decided to officially announce we are having another baby. We are pretty excited but a little nervous. We've always heard 3 kids is the hardest since you have to switch from man on man defence to zone defence! I'm sure we'll figure it out somehow. My due date is May 19th and we already can't wait!

A Halloween Collage

Halloween this year was a blast! It started with a little fun in some pumpkin gunk. We enjoy making traditions on holidays and so our Halloween one begins by putting our dining table in the front room (with a sheet under it of course) and watching a fun movie (Tinker Bell this year--loved it!) while eating Papa Murphy's pizza. Then we just leave the dishes in the sink and pull out the pumpkins. Taylor and Callie "spooned" out the guts of the pumpkin (well, Callie touched it once and that was it!) and later Taylor actually drew a face on her pumpkin.

Here is the final product. Taylor's is on the left, then Callie's, Brandon's Pirate (notice the patch) and Tina's lip girl--hee hee.

Below are the pictures we took right before we went to a friends house for a little Halloween fun. Aren't the girls beautiful? Callie is getting the hang of this picture thing by saying "cheese."

Our little Cinderella and Tinkerbell--THANKS Nana for making some sweet costumes!

This is at Brandon's work party. I am a princess as well and Brandon is Prince Charming. He said it was quite the task being a Prince of three Princesses!

After our pot-luck dinner and watching of "Charlie Brown: The Great Pumpkin," we always have a trick or treat event at each classroom door.

Here we are finally celebrating Halloween on Oct. 31st (the rest was just warming up)! We went to our ward trunk-or-treat. It started with a fun parade of all the kids and their costumes. Then Brandon took the girls around to each of the cars for some candy while I stayed at our van and handed out the candy. Afterwards we enjoyed some yummy donuts and hot cocoa. Later we wanted to give the girls a chance to actually go trick-or-treating so we went to a dozen homes and let them walk up the driveway and ring the doorbells themselves. They are truly adorable! What a fun Halloween!

Fall Activities

We went to Mapleton Canyon for the first time and just loved it! The hike was short and just beautiful with all the changing colors and brisk air. The girls favorite part was when Brandon threw leaves up in the air over and over and they would laugh and giggle as they came down on their heads. It was a perfect Saturday afternoon.

This is Jacker's Pumpkin Patch near our home. Brandon's mom and dad (Nana & Papa) came out from Colorado with their grandson (our nephew) Logan. We had so much fun being able to all pick our own little pumpkins and then even being able to cut them from the vine!

This is the one Callie picked...a nice little green one. It's cute and all but after a few days it turns to mush so BEWARE!

The Cabinets, part 2

This video is supposed to be part of the post below but I could only get it to post seperately. UGHH!!!

Tuesday, October 14, 2008

What takes 9 weeks, 2 men, 1 woman...

...134 hours and 32 minutes 8 seconds, 15 sheets of Cherry MDF board (each weighing 100 lbs), 8 sheets of pure cherry hardwood, 1 roll of cherry veneer, 186 screws, 2 bottles of glue, 27 sheets of sandpaper, 3 cans of cherry/mahogany stain, 2 cans of clear glossy polyurethane, 2 curse words during a painful moment, and 147,632,217 prayers?

Cabinets, Cabinets, and more cabinets!!!

The pictures are kind of dark because I took them when the sun was going down...but there are a few that I took with the flash and they came out better.

Brandon got a phone call from the same guy that he made that gigantic frame for a couple of months ago. He asked Brandon if he'd ever done cabinets before and of course Brandon said "no." He responded with, "want to learn and I'll pay you?"

From that moment on Brandon hired Tucker and together they labored many days and nights (some times even till 2 am or on Saturday for about 15 hours straight). Tina did her fair share of work as well as she handled most of the staining.

All in all it was a good experience and helped us all out financially. We think they turned out beautiful but only time will see (meaning...I hope they don't fall on somebody and kill them!). Just Kidding!!!

Hee Haw Farms

For our Family Home Evening, we got our free annual tickets (Thanks Axiom Financial) to HeeHaw Farms in Pleasant Grove. The girls were so excited to see all the animals, specially when they got to touch them. Taylor's favorite part was when Brandon caught a small pig, picked him up, and then watched the pig poop all down his jacket!

The girls got to ride a pony, slide down a huge slide, take a train ride through the corn maze, do a hay ride where kids in costumes throw candy at you, go through a fun blown-up maze that was "haunted", and pick out a pumpkin to keep. Oh yeah, we also got some yummy doughnuts and hot chocolate. It was such a fun night and the girls just loved it.

**NOTICE THE GIRL TEXTING WHILE SHE IS IN CHARGE OF TAKING TAYLOR ON THE PONY RIDE**--What did Sister Dalton say, "Ever TEXTING and never coming to the knowledge of the truth!"

This is just a very short video of Taylor kind of chasing the pig. We just thought it was funny to hear the pig squeel like it did! You should have heard it when Brandon picked it up...scary!
