Fall Activities

We went to Mapleton Canyon for the first time and just loved it! The hike was short and just beautiful with all the changing colors and brisk air. The girls favorite part was when Brandon threw leaves up in the air over and over and they would laugh and giggle as they came down on their heads. It was a perfect Saturday afternoon.

This is Jacker's Pumpkin Patch near our home. Brandon's mom and dad (Nana & Papa) came out from Colorado with their grandson (our nephew) Logan. We had so much fun being able to all pick our own little pumpkins and then even being able to cut them from the vine!

This is the one Callie picked...a nice little green one. It's cute and all but after a few days it turns to mush so BEWARE!

The Cabinets, part 2

This video is supposed to be part of the post below but I could only get it to post seperately. UGHH!!!

What takes 9 weeks, 2 men, 1 woman...

...134 hours and 32 minutes 8 seconds, 15 sheets of Cherry MDF board (each weighing 100 lbs), 8 sheets of pure cherry hardwood, 1 roll of cherry veneer, 186 screws, 2 bottles of glue, 27 sheets of sandpaper, 3 cans of cherry/mahogany stain, 2 cans of clear glossy polyurethane, 2 curse words during a painful moment, and 147,632,217 prayers?

Cabinets, Cabinets, and more cabinets!!!

The pictures are kind of dark because I took them when the sun was going down...but there are a few that I took with the flash and they came out better.

Brandon got a phone call from the same guy that he made that gigantic frame for a couple of months ago. He asked Brandon if he'd ever done cabinets before and of course Brandon said "no." He responded with, "want to learn and I'll pay you?"

From that moment on Brandon hired Tucker and together they labored many days and nights (some times even till 2 am or on Saturday for about 15 hours straight). Tina did her fair share of work as well as she handled most of the staining.

All in all it was a good experience and helped us all out financially. We think they turned out beautiful but only time will see (meaning...I hope they don't fall on somebody and kill them!). Just Kidding!!!

Hee Haw Farms

For our Family Home Evening, we got our free annual tickets (Thanks Axiom Financial) to HeeHaw Farms in Pleasant Grove. The girls were so excited to see all the animals, specially when they got to touch them. Taylor's favorite part was when Brandon caught a small pig, picked him up, and then watched the pig poop all down his jacket!

The girls got to ride a pony, slide down a huge slide, take a train ride through the corn maze, do a hay ride where kids in costumes throw candy at you, go through a fun blown-up maze that was "haunted", and pick out a pumpkin to keep. Oh yeah, we also got some yummy doughnuts and hot chocolate. It was such a fun night and the girls just loved it.

**NOTICE THE GIRL TEXTING WHILE SHE IS IN CHARGE OF TAKING TAYLOR ON THE PONY RIDE**--What did Sister Dalton say, "Ever TEXTING and never coming to the knowledge of the truth!"

This is just a very short video of Taylor kind of chasing the pig. We just thought it was funny to hear the pig squeel like it did! You should have heard it when Brandon picked it up...scary!
